In the wake of a snowstorm just two days earlier, record cold gripped much of Vermont and New Hampshire on this date in 1969. Concord, NH sank to 10 degrees, as did Woodstock, VT. The coldest reports came from Rochester and Cavendish, VT both at 9 degrees. Indian Summer came to the rescue just three days later when Vernon warmed to 64, and Bellows Falls reached 65.
