Almost 30 years ago, April of 1996 was a very snowy one across the higher elevations of New York and northern New England. On this date Peru, VT watched another seven inches of snow pile up, with 15 inches at the base lodge at Jay Peak. Meanwhile 27 inches of snow buried the top of Mt. Mansfield, bringing the snow at the stake to over 11 feet on the ground, an impressive 135 inches.
