June of 1919 was famous for an early season heat wave that featured some of Vermont’s hottest weather on record. But over a century ago on this date, the weather did a flip-flop, and thermometers tumbled to record lows. Both Northfield and Enosburg Falls fell to 32, while St. Johnsbury recorded it coldest temperature so late in the season at 33 degrees, with reports of frost numerous in out-lying areas.
