The heaviest snow storm of the snowiest April on record dropped 15 inches in Woodstock and Bethel, 18 inches in Chester, and 24 inches in Bellows Falls. The April total of 49 inches in Woodstock was nearly one third of the winter’s total. Snow remained in the woods well into May.
