Unusual weather – even for our area – makes a unique entry in the record books on this date in 1983. Thunderstorms developed due to some very cold air above. This meant hail – up to an inch in diameter in Quechee during the balloon festival. As cold air descended toward the ground, it became cold enough for snow to fall in Sharon and Hartford, VT – about a quarter inch, enough to scrape together a summer-time snowball!
