One of the coldest Mays of the 20th century was capped off by a snowy northeaster in 1967. Residents of northern New England were waking up to a dusting to an inch in southern Vermont, including 2 inches near Brattleboro. The mountains and the north were snowier, 6 inches in Montpelier, 9 inches in Northfield, and a whopping 2 feet of snow on Mt. Washington in New Hampshire.
