Several record highs were set earlier in the month, but the 30th capped off the warm weather with readings of 78 degrees in Lancaster, NH, and Newport, VT, 80 degrees in Burlington and Dorset, VT and Keene, NH, and 85 degrees in Rutland, VT. Thunderstorms on the 31st put an exclamation point to the end of the month, with rising rivers.
