The biggest storm of a snowy February came to an end on this date in 1952. The snowfall of 28 inches in Northfield brought snow levels to 40 inches on the ground. In the southern Green Mountains snow depths of 4 feet were reported in Somerset. Amounts were much less in the Champlain Valley, closer to a foot of snow, and less than 2 feet on the ground.
