Although this can come anywhere from December to March, more interesting is that the average ranges from early February in southern New Hampshire, to the first week of March over the higher elevations of the Adirondacks, and Green and White Mountains, reflecting the continued accumulation in the mountains where it is colder, while the balance of melting shifts earlier in the warmer valleys to the south.
