A heavy, wet snow storm on this date, November 12th, in 1968 brought 6 to 12 inches in many valleys, while 12 to 24 inches was common on the mountains. Readsboro measured 12 inches, and 11 inches had to be shoveled in St. Albans. Mountain totals were very impressive, with 20 inches on Mount Mansfield, and 34 inches on Mount Washington. This was the third in a series of 5 storms that marked the beginning of one of the snowiest winters of the 20th century.
