Until this past April, the last total eclipse of the sun to cross Vermont occurred on this date in 1932. The center of the eclipse dropped southeast from Quebec, through the Northeast Kingdom, over the White Mountains and to the seacoast near Portland. ME. High and mid-level clouds made less-than-ideal viewing, but the darkness was dramatic, and clouds parted near Danville for some great views.
