Today is Earth Day, an event dating back to the 1970s. Thinking about the phrase, “think globally, act locally” I like to use this date to do a little hands-on work. Though the challenge varies widely through our region, I always try to get something planted on Earth Day – peas and a variety of greens are often good choices early in the year, though onions and garlic are good candidates as well.
