An unfortunate anniversary flood took place last year, 2024, on this date, exactly one year after the devastating flood of July 2023. The remnants of Hurricane Beryl, enhanced by a slow-moving weather front extending from central NY east through central VT, focused 3 to 6 inches of rain in kess than 12 hours, with disatrous effects for numerous communities. Hardest-hit areas were centered near Hinesburg, VT, and eastward in Peacham, VT, with areas completely stranded as all roads were washed out. 7.42 inches of rain was measured in nearby Walden, VT.
