Dusting off some of the older record books on this date in 1831, a heavy coastal storm produced 8 to 10 inches of snow in Keene, NH with much blowing and drifting. The snow was heaviest from southern New England down into Pennsylvania where 2 to 3 feet fell. Amounts dropped off sharply to the north, with only 4 inches in Randolph and Fayetteville in Vermont.
